Three individuals have been selected to receive the 2016 College of Veterinary Medicine Stange Award, the highest award presented to distinguished alumni in the college. The award is presented annually for outstanding professional achievement in the area of education, government, industry, practice or other professional endeavors in veterinary medicine.
This year's Stange Award recipients include:
- Dr. Michael Conzemius ('90), professor of surgery, University of Minnesota
- Dr. Vincent Meador ('81), owner, Pacific Tox Path, LLC
- Dr. Donald O'Connor ('76), former epidemiologist with the state of Wisconsin
The recipient of the Switzer Award is Dr. James Stein ('75), chairman of the board of directors of Central Bancshares. The Switzer Award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to society and to the College of Veterinary Medicine.
