Research Focus & Interests
Rahul Nelli has an interest in evaluating innate/adaptive immune responses towards influenza and coronaviral infections. He has developed 3D cell-culture systems (Air-liquid interface respiratory cells and intestinal mini-guts) in different veterinary species (Swine, Bovine, Equine, and Feline). He has developed multicolor flow cytometry assays to evaluate the cell-mediated immune responses during influenza A virus infection in pigs. He has experience in high throughput gene expression studies, particularly in swine and bovine species. Besides, he conducted cytotoxicity studies to screening drugs and other antiviral mitigants.
