The graduate program of the Department focuses on two major areas: residency training in preparation for board certification, and research training at the Master's level. The department offers the Master of Science degree with a major in Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Surgery, or Theriogenology.

Concurrent DVM/MS
Students in the professional school (College of Veterinary Medicine DVM program) may also enroll in graduate studies in the M.S. program within the department. Only students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and are highly motivated will be considered. Students requesting admission as a concurrent student must complete the concurrent degree application in addition to their acceptance in the CVM DVM program.
