To have an engaged, diverse and supportive student body.
Key Measures
- The DVM program must be able to demonstrate that the resources are sufficient to achieve the stated educational goals for all veterinary students.
- All students must have direct experiences with veterinarians who are in post-DVM programs, including internships and residencies, to provide understanding of these career paths.
- Student support services must be available, accessible, and publicized.
- The College must notify students and provide a mechanism for them to offer anonymous suggestions, comments and complaints.
Strengths
- Students have an opportunity to participate in a variety of both formal and informal research related activities including the Summer Scholars Program.
- The College and University have invested in a variety of mental health and physical health initiatives.
- Student study spaces have been upgraded throughout the CVM complex.
- Students are engaged in every aspect of the College mission from educational (tutors), service (student workers) and research (summer research programs).
- There are more than 45 student organizations in the College.
Future Plans
- The College will continue to identify opportunities to build a community where all are welcomed and can succeed.
